MEDiate in EGU 2025 General Assembly

The MEDiate project participated in the European Geosciences Union (EGU) General Assembly 2025, held from 27 April to 2 May in Vienna. As one of the largest gatherings of geoscience experts worldwide, EGU provides a unique platform for scientific exchange and interdisciplinary collaboration. The MEDiate team contributed to this year’s programme with five scientific presentations and two co-organised sessions, presenting the project’s latest developments and research outcomes. Topics addressed by the MEDiate team included:

  • Decision-support systems for multi-hazard risk management;
  • Stakeholder engagement in disaster risk reduction;
  • Conflict-resolution preferences in risk mitigation;
  • Integration of climate change adaptation into disaster risk strategies.

In addition to the scientific sessions, MEDiate also took part in the Annual Meeting of EU-funded Multi-Hazard-Risk Projects, fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange among leading European initiatives. Through its contributions, the project highlighted the importance of co-creating practical tools and approaches with communities and stakeholders to enhance resilience in the face of complex hazards. The event provided a valuable platform for dialogue, innovation, and future collaboration across disciplines.
